Acupuncture is an integral part of the system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), practised in China for thousands of years.

Based on the concept of balancing the body’s natural energy (Qi), to restore equilibrium and a sense of well being. Qi can become blocked or imbalanced for several reasons ranging from stress, physical trauma, illness, poor diet or through emotional upset.

Acupuncture is traditionally used to treat a wide range of problems, including:

  • Sports injuries

  • Aches & pains

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain

  • Knee and hip pain

  • Frozen shoulder

  • Stress, tension & depression

  • Anxiety

  • Insomnia

  • Digestive problems

  • Menstrual problems

  • Blood pressure

  • Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FM)

Following a detailed consultation, fine, sterile single-use needles are inserted into carefully selected acupuncture points. Acupuncture may include other techniques of Chinese Medicine, such as Acupressure Massage and Moxibustion, a technique whereby a smouldering herb brings warmth to an area. The acupuncture points used may be on the front or the back of the body, and I will talk you through every step of the treatment.
